New Yard Waste Recycling Service

Filed under: Other — Baker @ 9:16 am

All Salt Lake City residents are to have brown yard waste cans included with their waste services.  The city will discontinue curbside leaf pickup and Christmas tree removal, instead relying exclusively on these cans.  Waste service fees will be increasing by 10% starting October 1st. First pickup for the included service begins the week of Oct. 4.  The yard waste program will be year-round on the same days as regular trash pickup.  Those who already were in the program will no longer see the charge itemized.  For more information, see the frequently-asked-question list at the Salt Lake City waste service website:  http://www.slcgov.com/slcgreen/recycle/expansionFAQ.htm

Upcoming Political Debates

Filed under: Other — Baker @ 6:57 pm

A Westside SLC Candidate Night will be held on October 5th at 6:30 pm at the Fairpark Zion’s Building.   All of the candidates that will be on the ballot for the Rose Park, Fairpark, Jordan Meadows, Glendale, and Westpointe community councils have been invited to attend.

In addition,  residents of Rose Park have been asked to consider the upcoming U.S. Senate debate this Thursday.  Do you have a question you would want to ask the candidates?  If so, ask it here.  Are you concerned about immigration, nuclear waste in Utah, jobs, the national debt,  or healthcare?  A question from Rose Park residents is planned to be put before the candidates in that debate.
